INCLUSIVITY

Our VISION

The League of Independent Organizations strives for equality and justice for independent organizations in the University. It seeks to protect and promote the rights and welfare of its constituent organizations through forwarding their interests, representing and defending them in official student and University bodies, and providing support and information crucial to their development.

Our mission

The League of Independent Organizations envisions an Ateneo student body, administration, and community that respects the individual liberties, protects the vested rights, and promotes the creative purposes of all student organizations in the University.

Orgs want to continue developing in Ateneo, but they do not receive the same amount of support as existing accredited orgs. Let’s prove they have the capacity to do that.

HISTORY

CONCEPTION

LIONS was founded on love, freedom, and justice. The need for accreditation, financial support, and information dissemination for unaccredited organizations caught the eye of then-Association of European Studies Students president Harald Tomintz and then-Association of Interdisciplinary Studies Majors president Angelica De Asis, which urged them to draft a constitution for an organization that encompasses all independent organizations in the Ateneo.

In 2011, the League of Independent Organizations, fondly called LIONS, was born. LIONS believes that Ateneans have the right to organize; to pursue their respective advocacies and passions for a better society.
