WHO ARE WE?
Effective Altruism Blue (EA Blue) is a university chapter for Ateneans interested in Effective Altruism – a philosophy and global movement of people who use evidence and reason to figure out how to help others as much as possible, and take action on that basis.
WHY JOIN US?
"With limited time and resources, how can I make the greatest positive impact in this world?" This is a question we ask at Effective Altruism. If you are passionate about helping others, are open-minded and eager to update your beliefs in response to persuasive evidence, and seek to apply evidence and reason to determine the most effective ways to improve the world, EA Blue is a great fit for you.
YEARLY PROJECTS
Introductory Fellowship
The Introductory Fellowship (IF) is an 8-week fellowship that introduces participants or 'fellows' on how they can create the greatest positive impact in this world given the limited time and resources they have. Fellows will learn and discuss about various topics, from thinking more rationally, career planning, current global problems, to global existential risks.
Career Planning Club
The Career Planning Club is a 7-week career planning program where participants can discuss long and short term career paths based on Effective Altruism’s concepts and causes, and get connected with professionals of their interested field.
EA Workshops & Talks
EA Blue members will have the opportunity to attend various EA-aligned workshops and talks throughout the year, from a "Why You Should Consider Working in Research" webinar, to a Mindfulness Session Workshop!
Research with EA Philippines
EA Blue members will be able to take part in research projects led by EA Philippines.
EA Virtual Conference
EA Blue members have the opportunity to participate in an EA Virtual Conference, which is a gathering of the effective altruism community around the world
EA Socials
EA Blue members will be able to attend virtual social events with other members of EA Blue, and with members of EA Philippines and other EA student chapters.
