Project LAAN
Fighting Poverty Through Health
WHO ARE WE?
Project LAAN envisions a society where every Filipino, especially the poor and vulnerable, has adept knowledge on public health and is empowered to make informed and appropriate health decisions.
Our mission is to instill and promote public health advocacy, health literacy, and patient empowerment to our partner communities and members.
WHY JOIN US?
Project LAAN is a community of health advocates with the understanding that health should never be confined to certain sectors or fields. We believe that health is for all and health should be in all. There is a place in our organization for anyone interested in public health. We welcome students from different courses and have different skills to share. Members can work with our design and production teams, be part of our module-making teams, set up fundraisers for the community, organize talks and campaigns, contact external partners, do administrative/secretariat work, and more!
Join us as we continue fighting poverty through health!

YEARLY PROJECTS
Health Literacy Modules

Project LAAN aims to help increase the capacity of Barangay Calawis, our partner community, in making informed and appropriate health decisions. Over the past year, we have constantly been collaborating with Calawis National High School in the formulation and deployment of contextualized modules that revolve around pertinent topics chosen by their administrators and students (e.g., child stunting, hygiene, family planning, drug prevention, and immunization). This year, we will be offering our modules to other schools and communities as well.
Public Health Advocacy Project
To promote and instill public health advocacy, Project LAAN initiates events such as talks (UsaPHan: A Webinar Series) and online campaigns (LiPHad: Lessons in Public Health Advocacy) to generate discourse among its members and the Loyola Schools community. New members are invited to a Skills Training event to equip them with the foundational knowledge in using a multi-sectoral approach to discussing relevant issues that affect the health system of our country. This year, we will be focusing on the incoming elections and its implications on the health system.
