WHO ARE WE?
Toushin (also known as Touhou no Shinju or Pearl of the Orient) is an independent student organization dedicated to promoting Japanese art and pop culture.
WHY JOIN US?
Toushin is not just an organization. It is a family of people who are passionate about what they love in the form of Japanese Pop Culture. The various stories that they tell, the characters that gain our interest and make us fall in love, as well as different worlds where we could explore and be different, but the same; all of these are just the tip of the iceberg. If you have interest or passion for anime, manga, and other parts of Japanese Pop Culture, then Toushin can be your home. Okaerinasai, TOUmodachi!!
YEARLY PROJECTS
Toushin Fandom February
A public talk series that showcases different topics under Japanese pop culture from different volunteers. The talks will depend on the chosen topic of the individual and will vary each session!
TouCon
One of the official flagship events of Toushin that mainly highlights contemporary Japanese culture, ranging from J-pop music to the diverse genres of anime. It features different artists, vendors, cosplayers, and anime lovers in an all-in public convention once every two years - now in an online setting!
Anime Game Show
Members would clash against each other in a battle of wits, concerning topics from anime, manga and other Japanese pop culture.
Game Tournament
A tournament will be organised for games picked by member’s choices. Past examples include Japanese fighting games like SOULCALIBUR and UNIST. Actual execution and schedule will depend on member interest.
